Technology teamwork opens up Fantastic League™ Spot The Ball football game opportunity

With the South Africa-hosted FIFA 2010 World Cup not far away, an innovative move from Octavian and Gextech has created a massive football-based opportunity for gaming operators worldwide.

Gextech has developed and wholly owns a unique platform that creates 3D virtual football games for use in the betting industry. The company’s new multi-lingual Spot The Ball game is the latest exciting development of its market-leading football brand, The Fantastic League™.

In parallel, Octavian has developed its Symphony platforms, as featured in our previous Innovations article. These are hugely flexible and scalable systems that run third-party games content and can be easily adapted to the needs of different jurisdictions.

Now, through a unique combination of the two companies’ technologies, Spot The Ball is to be made available for land-based fixed-odds terminals on both Symphony platforms – Symphony DE (Downloadable Games Edition) and Symphony LE (Lottery Edition).

Universal appeal for customers across the gaming worlds

“The timing for this release is perfect. Fantasy sports games and sports betting are both fast-growing markets. Added to that, worldwide interest in football is sure to increase in the run-up to the World Cup 2010. Of course, many sports-based betting games exist but the majority are simple racing games, which do not require complex probability analysis or detailed graphics. Spot The Ball on Symphony is completely different – it takes a universally known betting format and delivers it using the latest technology and exciting virtual football action."

Oleg Gorskiy, Head of Symphony Development, Octavian
